A Chinese pale jade Kuanyin statuette, pale celadon with subtle lavender tints - modelled seated upon a single lotus throne, the bodhisattva sits with left hand in vitarka mudra and right hand holding a vase with willow branch, the deities headdress covering a lotus diadem and backed by a leaf shaped mandala. On black lacquered plinth (chipped). Overall H.355mm.

An old Chinese green jade lidded censor - the lid with pronounced flower head finial and three captured ring handles. carved with dragon masks, the body with further conforming masks to the large flat top captured ring handles. A highly decorative and energetic bronze of a bodhisattva Shaolin monk - wielding his khakkhara staff in his raised arm and manifesting a flaming pearl in his left hand, stamped under the hem of his flaring cloak with two undeciphered zhuanshu script seal marks. The surface treatments including cold painting and enhanced verdigris patination. The poised stance above rising and falling waves mirroring the Buddhist concept of finding balance and equanimity amidst change, the ebb and flow - life and death. H.1010mm,

One of a matched pair, a massive Japanese Imari porcelain charger - decorated with madoe panels of 'brocade' patterns, gilt dragon rondel motifs, ancient pines and an unfurling scroll depicting Manchurian cranes in flight between ribbons of mist on a background of jade and gold cloud forms. The reverse rim painted with chrysanthemum and blossom branches in iron red and underglaze blue, Dia.600mm.

A superb pair of 19thC Daisho tsuba - the Dai in iron with raised rim showing a Shibuichi stag in relief by a river under a silver crescent moon, gold highlights on foliage to the front and reverse. The Sho in Shiboichi with raised deer in copper with gold antlers under a silver full moon behind clouds. Gold and Shakudo maple leaves on front and reverse. In fitted box.

A fine old Japanese katana - possibly 16thC Mino school, unsigned, original polish with healthy undulating gunome temper, no flaws to the blade. Old mounts with Fuchi and Kojiri in dark Shibuichi carved with waves and gold highlights. Menuki of Shakudo and gold in floral design. The iron Tsuba in open design with samurai figures by a bridge. Quality black lacquer saya with maroon Sageo and fine blue/gold silk bag. L. 900mm.

A well carved Japanese bone scabbarded and hilted tanto dagger - the scabbard carved in relief with an elephant and numerous attendants along with observers climbing a tree, the hilt with a group of figures, a small kodzuka blade inset to the scabbard. Straight blade, double edged top side for 90mm. Overall L.280mm.

An old katana in tachi mounts (handachi - with cloth bound ray skin covered hilt with tachi kashira, chrysanthemum menuki, chrysanthemum decorated tsuba, the tang with incised and stamped characters, single fixing hole. Overall surface oxidation to blade, multiple nicks to blade edge. In plain wood saya with tachi style koshirae. Blade L.650mm. Overall 925mm.

A Japanese katana blade in lacquer saya - L.610mm blade with few areas of surface oxidisation, unsigned tang with three fixing holes, hilt lacking all mounts except fuchi.
