Rex Homan (1940-) carved wooden modernist sculpture. L.380mm, two circular (owls eyes) piercings, raised on two stainless rods (legs) on carved base. Note: Homan was the recipient of the Supreme Award from TE WAKA TOI in 2019 for leadership, excellence of work and outstanding contribution to NGA TOI MAORI globally. Affiliated to three IWI Rex describes his style as Pacific with a contemporary edge. Committed to the power of minimalism he strives for a hint of realism.

Pauline Yearbury (Ngāpuhi 1926–1977) and James Yearbury (1921-2008) 'MARAKI-HAU' - incised and coloured wood panel, signed with incised cipher lower left. Labelled and entitled verso 'A Sea Monster of Māori mythology, with a long tubular tongue used for sucking up men and canoes'. William Jones (UK/NZ 1923-83) 'Still Life' - oil on canvas on board c.1960s, signed. 580 x 760mm. Exhib. Webb's, 1992. John Leech Gallery exhibition label verso; typescript: Purchased from one man exhibition 1963. Note: Jones lived and painted for a time in Auckland in the 1950s. He was included in exhibitions at the Auckland City Art Gallery along with McCahon, Henderson, Mrkusich and others and at the Auckland Society of Arts in 1954, at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts between 1952 and 1964 and with The Group in 1958 and 1964.

Ruth Browne (1905-2002) 'Togetherness' - acrylic and mixed media on board, signed and dated '68. Entitled and detailed verso. 620 x 1240mm. Note: In the 1920's Browne graduated as a top student at the Canterbury College School of Art, she later attended the Slade School in London. She was a contemporary of Rita Angus and Olivia Spencer Bower. She moved to a more abstract style in the 1960's.

John Mandel (US 1941-) 'Squat Icon 5 - Portrait of Robert Alexander - Religious Painting II 1969' - acrylic on canvas.1830 x 1830mm - Whitney Museum label to reverse shows this artwork was exhibited as part of the 1969 Annual Exhibition of Contemporary American Painting. Also exhibited at the Max Hutchinson Galley, New York.
